The scientist and artist with a penchant for aesthetics
Margherita Pastrello combines her passion for science and art in her work. After earning her Master's degree in Architecture from the IUAV University in Venice, she found her true calling in architectural visualization.
What career stages have you had?
I have always been torn between my interest in science and my love for art. In architecture, I found the perfect combination of these two elements. After completing my Master's degree in Architecture at the IUAV University in Venice, I worked for several years as a designer before venturing into the world of architectural visualization (Archviz).
What is your personal superpower—and how do you use it?
One of my strengths is the balance between observation and intuition—another aspect of my rational/irrational dualism. This allows me to read between the lines and develop a layered understanding.
What brought you to Nightnurse?
One aspect I have always loved about architecture is drawing and visualizing ideas to communicate them clearly to the outside world. To further explore this aspect, I attended the postgraduate Master's program in Digital Architecture (MADI) in Venice. Nightnurse gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into this field and grow.
Which spaces or places particularly fascinate you and why?
I love vast horizons where eyes and mind can wander freely: the view from a mountain peak or the expanse of the blue sea from the coast of an island. But I also love the opposite: walking through the narrow alleys of Venice and being surprised by unexpected moments of beauty.
What is the most beautiful thing that has ever been visualized?
Nature is a master of beauty, harmony, and perfection. I am fascinated by how light interacts with colors and shapes, creating new, breathtaking scenarios time and again.
What do you love doing, when you're not working as a Nightnurse?
Cooking, reading, listening to music, and spending time in nature are my ways of relaxing. With photography, drawing, and sewing, I can further express my creativity and engage in practical, hands-on activities.
