The Storyteller Between Structure and Poetry

Cai Ling Duong

Project Lead

Ling moves pixels instead of millions today, combining creative intuition with clear structure. Between the buzz of big cities and the stillness of the Alps, she finds her inspiration and creates visual worlds that resonate and linger.

Which professional stations have you been through?
I have always been a curious person, learning best by doing, during and alongside my studies. By coincidence, I ended up in a hedge fund at a financial institution after college, moving millions every day, long before I knew I would one day be moving pixels instead. I soon realized that my true passion lies in creative work. After studying Interior Design and Scenography, I worked for several years as a scenographer before finding my way into CGI, where I can combine creative thinking with structure, a balance that suits me perfectly.

What is your personal superpower and how do you use it?
My superpower is a mix of empathy, optimism, and calmness. Even in hectic situations, I stay focused and keep an overview, while maintaining a positive team spirit. With a calm mindset and genuine understanding of others, even complex challenges can be solved together.

What brought you to Nightnurse?
During my studies, I came across Nightnurse Images and was immediately touched by the warm and poetic visual language. That impression stayed with me. After completing my CGI internship, applying felt like a natural next step. I started as a Junior Visualizer and now work as a Project Lead, bringing ideas together and shaping them into clear visual narratives.

Which spaces or places fascinate you and why?
I am fascinated by contrasts. I love big cities like Hong Kong, New York, Paris, or Tokyo with their vibrant atmosphere. At the same time, I am drawn to quiet places, a mountain cabin in the Alps or a peaceful bay in Corfu. Both extremes sharpen my sense of space and mood.

What is the most beautiful thing ever visualized?
I admire Monet’s Water Lilies, Ryoji Ikeda’s precise visual worlds, Rembrandt’s use of light, and traditional Chinese ink paintings. What connects them is atmosphere and presence. Yet the most beautiful visualization remains untouched nature itself, a reference no image can ever fully surpass.

What do you most like to do when you’re not on duty as a Nightnurse?
I love bringing people together. Cooking for friends and family, enjoying good wine and music that fills the room. When conversations flow and laughter carries late into the night, that is my perfect balance.
